44. Knight of Flame by Scott Eder (2013)
The Knights Elementalis Series Book 1
Length: 355 pages
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Started: 14 November 2013
Finished: 20 November 2013
Where did it come from? Many thanks to Scott Eder and to Tracee at Pump up Your Book for sending me a copy of this book to read.
How long has it been on my TBR pile? Since 18 September 2013
Why do I have it? I like paranormal romance and Scott Eder is a new author to me.
As the most chaotic of the earth's primal elements, fire is notoriously fickle and unstable. When wielded properly by the Knight of Flame, it burns like the sun. Otherwise, it slowly consumes the Knight, burning away his control, driving him to dark deeds.
Stationed in Tampa, Florida, the sixth Knight of Flame, Develor Quinteele, waits impatiently for the prophesied emergence of the last Gray Lord, his Order's ancient nemesis. Hampered by the memories of a centuries-old tragedy, Dev knows of only one way to control his elemental power - rage. It simmers just beneath his surface - barely contained - igniting at the slightest provocation.
After a brutal attack by the Gray Lord's minions for which Dev is blamed, he is stripped of his freedom until he learns to control his violent impulses. With the help of his fellow Knights, can Dev balance his rage and unlock his true elemental potential in time to prevent Tampa's devastation?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I was completely drawn into the story from the first page, and appreciated that while it possessed many romantic elements, the story wasn't overwhelmed by them. I give Knight of Flame an A+! and look forward to reading the next book in the series.
A+! - (96-100%)
May you read well and often

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the review, Scott, and thanks for visiting! :) By the way, how many books (tentatively) will there be in this series? Just curious :)
I apologize for not answering your question sooner. I didn't see it until today. There will be four books in the Chronicles of the Knights Elementalis, one for each of the elemental Knights. Like in Knight of Flame, each book will be told from multiple points of view. To provide a common thread through the series, certain POVs will appear in each book, but I will also introduce a new Knight's POV. In the second book, I introduce the Knight of Air's POV. I can't wait until you get to swim around in her head for a while.
lol. Let's not give anything away. Cyndralla has been a lot of fun to write. I think you'll really like her the more you get to know her. She brings an interesting perspective to things. As for Stillman...absolutely more will be revealed. As the head of the Order, he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders, and his Knights don't always see things they way he does.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't worry about not answering my question right away - good things come to those who wait! LOL! :)
Oh, I can't wait to read Cyndralla's story - especially when she might potentially have a connection to the Gray Lord - through an unusual family link! (I'm trying not to give too much away here - *Spoiler Alert!* : I edited out my previous slip LOL! :)) Anyway, I'm also getting more intrigued by Mr. Stillman - will more be revealed about him throughout the series? :)
Slainte,
Mareena
Thanks for turning your spoiler into a teaser.
No problem, Scott! :) I aim to please! LOL!
